About Joyella Design

Hello — I’m Sam, the maker behind Joyella Design.

Joyella Design began as a love letter to books, quiet moments, and the small rituals that make reading feel special. Every piece is designed for readers who linger — over pages, over details, over the feeling of being completely absorbed in a story.

What started as a personal creative practice has grown into a collection of bookish gifts made to be lived with: enamel pins, keyrings, stationery, and blind date books that celebrate reading as something slow, comforting, and deeply personal.

I’m dyslexic, and that experience is woven gently into everything I make.

Reading was never about speed or quantity for me — it was about atmosphere, feeling, and connection. That perspective shapes Joyella Design at its core: creating pieces that honour reading as a ritual rather than a race, and designing with care, accessibility, and intention.

This isn’t about overcoming something — it’s about working with it, and finding beauty in the way stories meet us differently.

Each Joyella Design piece is inspired by:

  • quiet evenings and lamplit pages

  • well-loved books and dog-eared corners

  • the magic of noticing small details

Whether you’re choosing something for yourself or gifting a fellow reader, everything here is designed to feel thoughtful, personal, and timeless — something that belongs beside your favourite books.

Our Mission

Reading as a ritual, not a race.

Joyella Design exists to encourage slower moments in a busy world.

We believe reading doesn’t need to be productive to be meaningful. It can be soft, imperfect, and unhurried. A pause. A comfort. A small act of care.

Through bookish gifts and blind date books, we hope to remind you that it’s enough to simply sit, read, and be — even if only for a few pages at a time.

An Invitation

Joyella Design is for readers who notice light on pages, who reread favourite lines, who find comfort in familiar stories and joy in quiet details.

If that sounds like you, you’re very welcome here.

Take your time.
There’s no rush.
